Nice place to eat and just chill while doing so. Definitely try the wings if they have them

Excellent plate of pork BBQ! Very good baked beans, too. I'm from Texas, and accustomed to beef, but I could happily add this into my BBQ rotation!! These great United States of America are blessed with so much great BBQ and foods of all types! Happy Independence Day to all!

This venue is a well-hidden treasure. The owner and staff are so friendly. Any time I'm in the area, I take home a pound of chopped BBQ with sauce. Eat in is good too. Fast service. Good value. I try to have cash with me when I visit. There is an up-charge when paying with a card.

Come here often, once a week or so since moving to Cottondale. I absolutely love the pottery grill. The staff are amazing, friendly and quick. The food is outstanding. I really enjoy the BBQ sandwich, but everything they have is delicious, especially the loaded BBQ potato... make sure you get it with the sauce! I highly recommend! 5 stars across the board

I stopped in Tuscaloosa for an overnight stay when returning from my annual trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I wanted barbecue and have previously tried the well-known Tuscaloosa spots. This time I hoped to find a lesser known, but still delicious, bbq spot. I was staying on the east side, so when I came across recommendations for Cottondale's The Pottery Grill, my decision was made. It was easy to find, not far from I-20. It wasn't large or fancy, a typical roadfood stop in Alabama including the requisite Crimson Tide memorabilia. The person working at the counter was friendly and helpful. I got a chicken plate which came with a generous amount of grilled chicken with a tasty sauce, two sides (I chose potato salad and turnip greens),and the ubiquitous slices of white bread typically served with southern bbq. The chicken was moist with a good smoky flavor and a tasty bbq sauce. The potato salad, while not as good as my mother-in-law's stellar example, was very good as were the turnip greens. The only thing missing was a bottle of Crystal hot sauce. The person working at the counter recommended that I not skip the banana pudding for dessert. She was right; I'm very glad that I listened to her. It was yummy: creamy with a good banana flavor from the fresh banana accented by the pieces of vanilla wafers scattered throughout it. I left full and with a smile on my face. I can definitely see myself stopping here again.

I placed a carryout order. It was ready right on time, carried out to my car, and accurate. The food was so delicious! The smokey flavor was in every bite and the sides were just as good as the meats! Will definitely be back. And the value for what I paid... cheaper than groceries.

We stopped here on our way back to TX. This is some of the best BBQ I have had in a long time. It's absolutely phenomenal! You know the meat will be good when the place smells of wood smoke. Everyone should eat here at least once in their lifetime. It's right off of I20, easy access for the traveler.

Not my favorite sauce, but that's an individual thing. The pulled pork plate had excellent tasting meat, the baked beans were good, and the potato salad was also tasty. The potato salad was not mustard based, which will throw some, but that's the way I like it. Old time atmosphere with super friendly service. I left full, but not stuffed. Good old-fashioned BBQ joint.
